Our focus for the English section of the ACT is to teach content and strategies.
The English section is the first section of the ACT test. It consists of 75 questions completed in 45 minutes. These 75 questions are broken down into five passages each containing fifteen questions. Each of the five sections test two general topic areas: usage and mechanics and rhetorical skills.
The Writing and Language section is the second section of the SAT test. It consists of 44 questions completed in 35 minutes. These 44 questions are broken down into four passages each containing 11 questions. One or two passages will contain a graphic, chart, or table. Within these reading sections, there will be five types of questions: punctuation, word choice, sentence structure, organization and editorial skills.
